On May 23, we launched our very first East Coast location at MoMA Design Store, Soho in New York! At our pop-up you can find collections from the JINS Design Project — where we collaborated with well-known designers and architects around the world including Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic, Michele De Lucchi, and Alberto Meda. You can find these designer’s work with furniture products at famous furniture stores like Design Within Reach and Vitra.
At our pop-up, you can have the same store experience as our other JINS stores in California. From start to finish, you can get your prescription glasses made within 30 minutes or less. Frames are from $80 – $200, and all prices include free prescription lenses. What’s great is that only at the JINS x MoMA Design Store, the following lenses are added to your glasses for free! (but additional charges may apply for lenses with prescription)
- JINS SCREEN
- Gray polarized
- Brown polarized
What has also caught a lot of attention at the pop-up is our AI interface app mirror called, “Brain Mirror”, which helps you evaluate which frames look best. It’s already in use in a few JINS stores in Tokyo, Japan. A customer can first choose an eyeglass frame and step in front of the Brain Mirror. It will help in choosing the right frame for your face by giving a score between 1-100, which evaluates how good you look in those particular glasses.
And exclusive to the JINS MoMA store, you can get your case customized by a calligraphy artist! They are available every Saturday, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. When you buy a frame and get a case, you’ll get your initials or name written on the cases.
Another JINS and MoMA special is with the purchase of any 2 items, every customer will receive a special tote bag (while supplies last.) In addition with any purchase, you’ll receive a special gifted JINS x MoMA cleaning cloth.
Check out our new JINS pop-up store today and get a designer pair of glasses. Our store is located in MoMA Design Store, Soho on 81 Spring Street, New York, NY 10012. Open for a limited time through Sunday, August 4th, 2019.
